Our district encompasses mainly rural residential and some light industrial and commercial spaces.  A interstate highway and an active rail line pass through our district along with the Susquehanna River.  We currently maintain a fleet of seven fire apparatus across two stations as well as a rescue boat and a special operations trailer.  Since our establishment in 1937, our members have made a difference in thousands of lives. Today, we continue to serve the Town of Kirkwood's residents as well as surrounding communities with the same dedication as our charter members had over 75 years ago.

The Kirkwood Fire Company, Inc.  is a 100% volunteer organization that was chartered to provide residents with a reliable volunteer fire protection and suppression agency.  The Town of Kirkwood is located in Broome County in the Southern Tier of upstate New York.  Kirkwood is around 30 square miles with an approximate population of 5,650 residents.  Our fire district extends north from the Pennsylvania state line and is bordered to the east by the Town of Windsor and the west by the Town of Conklin.  Our town is protected by two fire companies.  We cover the southern part of the town and our friends at the Five Mile Point Fire Company take care of the northern part.
